Training for a career in sport in the heart of the Landes region
TheAcadémie du Surf et des Activités du Littoral (A.C.A.S.A.L.) was created to bring together coastal sports activities in a single location, and in particular to train surf instructors (BPJEPS Surf).
Today, A.C.A.S.A.L. offers training in other sectors in line with the needs of the Landes region: Sports Educator (BPJEPS Physical Activities for All) and Lifeguard (BPJEPS Aquatic and Swimming Activities).

A long-standing partnership with the Conseil Départemental des Landes
Built by the Landes Département in 2010 as part of its sports policy to promote surfing, the Académie du Surf et des Activités du Littoral (A.C.A.S.A.L) aims to provide a public training facility for the region. To this end, the site has been entrusted to the Bordeaux CREPS.
In addition to the training aspect, the site is also a shared workplace for various entities, facilitating collaboration and consultation around a central theme: coastal activities. The administrative area also houses :
- CREPS Bordeaux offices
- the department’s nature sports unit
- the Landes branch of the Water Family association
- the head office of the departmental surfing committee
- spaces made available to the Fédération Française de Surf and the Ligue Nouvelle-Aquitaine de Surf

I was working in insurance and after a long illness, it was essential to give meaning to my professional activity. During this personal battle, sport provided both mental and physical support, and I decided to retrain in the field of health sports.
At CREPS, I found a training program that gave me skills, knowledge of the sporting and institutional environment, and pedagogical know-how. I’ve been practicing my profession for 13 seasons, and now I’m pleased to be able to take part as a trainer in the same BPJEPS program.
This enables me to pass on my experience to those who want to make their passion their profession.
