CREPS, 8 Gironde towns and Talence University are CPJs

In 2024, France will welcome more than 14,800 athletes in all disciplines during the Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games. To welcome them, Paris 2024 has decided to bring together the best sports facilities, through a list of Olympic and Paralympic Preparation Centers (CPJ).

In Gironde, the CPJ, the towns of Bordeaux, Lacanau, Libourne, Lormont, Mérignac, Pessac, Saint-Médard-en-Jalles, Talence, the University of Bordeaux and the CREPS are working together to meet the needs of the French and foreign sports teams who will be preparing for the games on our territory.

These entities are working together to bring the adventure of the games to life in the Gironde region. Symbol of this cohesion: a joint communication campaign with the production of a promotional video and a presentation brochure with the support of the Gironde CDOS.

They were presented to the press on February 22 at the Villa Primrose, the city of Bordeaux’s CPJ sports facility. It was an opportunity to express the ” territorial dynamic that we (all the structures) have implemented as part of this CPJ dynamic “, as our director, Patrice Béhague, reminded us. This is reminiscent of our establishment’s slogan: ” Le CREPS de Bordeaux, avec vous au cœur du territoire ” (” Bordeaux CREPS, with you at the heart of the region “).

At CREPS, 24 disciplines have been awarded the CPJ label.

Patrice Béhague emphasized the unity of our structure, with sports facilities, accommodation, catering and a medical center all on the same site, and the link with the town of Talence, with which ” we have an agreement to host French teams, many of whom have already booked dates at the facility “.

To illustrate this territorial dynamic, Patrice Béhague mentioned the welcome extended to the Singaporean delegation: ” We have made contact with Talence, Saint-Médard-en-Jalles (…) “.

A training course at the Centre de Préparation aux Jeux in Gironde is a unique opportunity to train in a high-level environment where the quality of life is exceptional!
