JO PARIS 2024: JORIS DAUDET IN GOLD!

After an exceptional race, Joris Daudet won gold and made BMX history with his compatriots Sylvain André in silver and Romain Mahieu in bronze.
It’s a historic podium that will mark the Paris Olympic Games! On Friday August 2, the final of the Olympic BMX Race took place, resulting in a 100% French podium.
On the top step of the podium, Joris DAUDET, emblematic sportsman and athlete of the BMX Pole at CREPS Bordeaux. Joris joined the center at the age of 17, became a member of the Stade Bordelais – of which he is still a member – and trained for 5 years. Perceived as a phenomenon in his sport, and world champion in 2011, he took part in his first Games in London, where his career ended in the semi-finals after a slight collision.
In 2013, he moved to the United States and dominated the American circuit, winning the title six times – an all-time record!
World champion again in 2016, he fell in the quarter-finals of the Rio Games. In 2021 in Tokyo, Joris reached the final but fell again, this time on the last bend, with the bronze medal within his grasp.
Once the disappointment was over, he set off again for the Paris Games. He returned to train at the CREPS in Bordeaux, on the track that saw him grow up and now bears his name. After an injury in early 2024, he became world champion again in May 2024.
By winning the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Joris is making an indelible mark on his sport!
Well done Joris and well done to the staff !!!!
