August sports results

August is a busy month for CREPS athletes.

On the program: gold and bronze medals! Here’s a closer look at recent results at several CREPS centers.

Pôle Espoir Handball Masculin

Congratulations to Yoni Peyrabout, Loan Felix-Andrieux and Kristofer M Bongue, from the Pôle Espoir Handball Masculin, who won the Slovakia tournament with the French U17M team!

The tournament served as preparation for the U17 European Open, from July 3 to 7 in Gothenburg.

Well done to the three athletes and their team-mates, and to their coaches!

Pôle France Archery

 

At the World Youth Championships in Ireland, Amélie Cordeau was crowned runner-up in the U21 team event and came 6th in the individual event.

Iban Bariteaud (U21) and Maia Tincu (U18) finished in 4th place.

Baptiste Addis, a former polo player, was crowned U18 world team champion.

At the French Elite Championships, Amélie Cordeau placed third.

Pôle France Judo

 

At the Junior European Cup in Paks, Hungary, Morgane Rubiano and Ilana Bouvier finished first and second respectively (-78 kg).

 

Pôle France Shooting Sports

 

At the French championships, Camille Jedrzejewski was crowned double French champion in women’s standard pistol and women’s 25m pistol, Tom Rio (cadet) won three medals (gold and bronze x2) in 25m shooting and Héloïse Fourré (junior) was crowned French champion in standard 25m pistol and vice-champion of France in standard pistol!

National Athletics Center

 

At the French cadet and junior championships in Châteauroux, Jules Courel (U18) was crowned French pole vault champion, while David Bosi (U18) finished third.

Thomas Marques (U20) was also crowned French 800m champion, while Célia Robin (U20) was runner-up in the 2000m steeplechase.

Mathias Lacombe, former Pôle Espoir Baseball poliste, has been selected by the Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball’s annual draft!

He is the second Frenchman to be drafted by an MLB franchise!

By taking 5th place at the last European Games, Marie Oteiza, a former polo player from the Pôle France de Pentathlon Moderne, has earned her ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!
