PROGRAMME – 2nd EDITION – PARALYMPIC DAY 2023

Accommodation Nouvelle-Aquitaine

After a year and a half’s work, the new accommodation, named “Hébergement Nouvelle-Aquitaine”, was completed in June. The 52-room, 96-bed building, with 3 study and relaxation rooms, will welcome in-house athletes, external training courses and various French and foreign delegations throughout the year.

In addition to the Pierre Paul Bernard stadium in Talence, the renovation of the athletics track and its infrastructure, including the long jump area, the creation of a javelin area and discus and shot-put workshops, is a major asset for the CREPS to host a new mixed Pôle France for combined events and middle-distance running. The renovated track will be used by all current Pôles, by trainees in sports-related professions, and by students from schools under contract.

The construction of a Laser Run shelter in the heart of the athletics track, with 10 targets, provides real added value for the Pôle France Relève de pentathlon moderne, enabling athletes to combine laser shooting sessions with running. A system that has proved its worth over the last few months.

The CREPS also renovated the soccer pitch, much to the delight of the young hopefuls.

This work completes the first phase of the establishment’s modernization, following the construction of the beautiful Marie-Amélie LE FUR room and the restructuring of the restaurant, which will be completed in 2022.

Dressed in the colors of the French teams and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the CREPS de Bordeaux is ready to welcome the teams in the best conditions of preparation!

For Patrice BÉHAGUE, Director of the Bordeaux CREPS, this modernization, initiated by his predecessors and made possible by the combined investments of the Region and the State, will support our country’s high sporting ambitions for several Olympiads to come.

PARALYMPIC DAY: INVITING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO TAKE PART IN SPORT

For the second year running, CREPS Bordeaux is organizing a Paralympic Day. Placed under the sign of mixity, this day is aimed at all publics curious to discover, learn about parasports and eager to meet parasporters in the run-up to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“With this day, we want people with disabilities to practice among themselves and with able-bodied people. We hope to contribute to the Paralympic dynamic and promote the para-sport movement”, explains Jean-François DI MARTINO, High Performance Advisor for Paralympic Accompaniment, at the Maison Régionale de la Performance, based at the CREPS.

This year, CREPS wanted to highlight the indispensable role of the caregiver as training partner, companion or guide to the blind. WHY?” Our wish is to create a network of volunteers mobilized to accompany athletes at various sporting events such as the Paris Games or the Los Angeles Games in 2028 and help organize competitions. 300 people were invited to the event, including 100 ESMS (social and medico-social establishments and services).
