CREPS DE BORDEAUX WELCOMES A FUTURE GUIDE DOG

The CREPS is actively committed to accessibility and inclusion by welcoming a guide dog for the first time. This project symbolizes our desire to provide a more inclusive environment for visually impaired people, and to raise community awareness of the role of guide dogs in our daily lives.

Why take this step?

The project is headed up by Élodie Cottin, a FFTIR state executive based at the CREPS in Bordeaux. Élodie initiated this initiative to help improve the situation of visually impaired people. The integration of the dog within the establishment helps to raise awareness of disability among all staff, trainers and athletes.

This project is carried out in collaboration with an association specializing in the education of guide dogs for the blind. L’association des chiens guides d’Aliénor trains and accompanies beneficiaries in obtaining a guide dog, and hands them over to disabled people who request them.

The guide dog, Viper, 6 months old, present at the CREPS in Bordeaux embodies the values of this association: autonomy, safety and confidence. His presence is a powerful symbol of our commitment to accessibility and inclusion in the world of sport.

A huge thank you to Viper and the association for their commitment. Donations are essential to support and finance the education of these precious guide dogs.
