The CREPS organizes the 2nd edition of the Paralympic Day on September 30, 2023
Building on the success of the 2022 edition, the Bordeaux CREPS will be welcoming you on September 30 for a new program to help you discover parasport disciplines.

PROGRAMME – 2nd EDITION – PARALYMPIC DAY 2023
For Jean-François Di Martino, High-Level Advisor for Paralympic Support at the Maison Régionale de la Performance de Nouvelle-Aquitaine and organizer of the event, this day enables people with disabilities to practice among themselves and with able-bodied people. In this way, ” we hope to contribute to the Paralympic dynamic and promote the parasport movement “.
This year, CREPS wanted to highlight the indispensable role of the caregiver as training partner, companion or guide to the blind. WHY?” Our wish :create anetwork of volunteersmobilizedto accompany athletes tovarious sporting events such as the Paris Games or the Los Angeles Games in 2028 and help organize competitions.”
On the program for this second edition:
- 10am – 12:30pm/ 1:30pm – 4pm: Discovering parasports parasports Wheelchair fencing, Para table tennis, Para table tennis, Boccia, Cécifoot, Para cycling, Para shooting, Wheelchair basketball, Para basketball, Para judo, Para athletics, Para badminton, Para rowing, etc.
- 11:30 am / 12:30 pm: Raising awareness of how to welcome people with disabilities : para-guest training , two French Sign Language (LSF) sessions, immersive virtual reality headset with visual impairment, wheelchair tour.
- 1:30 pm / 2:30 pm: Meetings with Paralympic athletes: Testimonial and talk by Sami El Guedarri on disabilities and classifications, testimonials from Paralympic athletes in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
- 4 pm / 5:30 pm: matchesand training sessions: High-level wheelchair basketball match – Blanquefort (division 1) against the Centre Fédéral Handisport du CREPS de Bordeaux, volley-assis match with players from the French team, and wheelchair fencing training.
Last year’s inaugural event attracted over 60 participants, including Karima MEDEJED, Paralympic Champion in Para-Judo, Damien Tokatlian, Paralympic Medalist in Wheelchair Fencing, and Grégory Mallet, Olympic Medalist in Swimming.
